Once Upon A Time @ The Flower Fields...

Time To Witness Nature Bloom!

By Courtney Daly-Pavone March 17, 2025

My family has been visiting The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch since 2017.

Before our first visit, I saw a picture of the fields and mistook it for a poppy field in Tuscany

There's no plane ticket required to take in the splendor of fifty acres of ranuculous flowers. We have gone every year with the exception of the Covid lockdown, and it never gets old.

Nature is always trending, even our teenage son eagerly awaits it's bloom.

The Flower Fields officially opened March 1st, and while we visited early this year (at the time of our story 3/16/25), already twenty-eight acres were in bloom, and activities were in full swing!

Here Are Some Fun Things To Do @ The Fields:

Butterfly Encounter

Hundreds of butterflies flutter about and land on guests. Nectar sticks attract the butterflies, creating a magical and serene experience that offers a unique connection with nature’s beauty. Admission: $5 per person

Sculpture Exhibit

Glass in Flight, by celebrated artist Alex Heveri is a unique outdoor installation featuring over three dozen larger-than-life sculptures of birds and insects, expertly crafted from Dalle de Verre glass and steel to embody the wonder of flight.

Outdoor Music Performances

Gainesville The Band, Mariachi Serenata, The Free Collective Band, Bill Magee, Bayou Brothers, Cool Rush and Michele Lundeen.

Fitness and Meditation Classes

Golden Hour Pilates and Family Yoga in addition to the return of Sunset Meditation and Sound Healing and Flower Flow Yoga classes.

More To Do...

Sunset Wine Tasting, Flower Crown Workshops and Tea in the Garden will return across multiple dates.

Don't Miss!

The American Flag of Flowers, Tractor Wagon Rides, Artist Gardens, Sweet Pea Maze, Santa’s Playground and Carlsbad Mining Company will deliver on the nostalgic experiences The Flower Fields is renowned for delivering for over sixty years.

Like many families this is our annual trip, a great way to experience the season. I highly recommend visiting the Flower Fields if you're looking for a fun outdoor activity to get in the Spring spirit, and create positive memories for your children.
