September 2nd is Labor Day, and school is officially closed. I know school just began, and the kids are home again, but luckily in San Diego there's no shortage of fun activities. Of course you can make the rounds at the beaches and barbecues, shop the sales, and Fall cleaning, or you can try something new. 

Below are some great ways to spend the holiday weekend with your family!

Labor Day Curated Marketplace in Little Italy!

The curated Marketplace will showcase over 55 local woman-owned small businesses, artisans & makers from 10 am to 7 pm on Sunday, September 1st. San Diego Natural History Museum

1788 El Prado, San Diego

This Museum has exhibits on everything from dinosaurs and geology to the animals that once roamed San Diego. In addition you can enjoy films about the natural world and biodiversity (included with paid admission to the museum). 

  • Meet Huxley the Harris’s Hawk: You can interact with Huxley, a Harris’s Hawk, and his handler, Bob Gordon. September 7, from 10 AM to 2 PM, this event offers an opportunity to learn about regional birds of prey and the art of falconry.
  • Nat at Night: Where you can enjoy the museum after hours. Get access to all exhibitions, participate in trivia, and unleash your creativity during Sketch Party sessions on select dates.
