Christmas time is coming, and there are plenty of free events! $ave your money for gifts, and enjoy these holiday happenings this weekend!  I've lived in San Diego almost twenty years, and I am truly impressed by the number of festivities that take place. *Free The Ocean Beach 43rd Annual OB Holiday Parade Saturday, 12/3/22 @ 5:00 PM

*Free December Nights @ Balboa ParkSaturday 12/3/22 11AM-11PM 1549 El Prado

The City of San Diego's largest free holiday festival in beautiful Balboa Park. The family friendly event brings San Diegans together to enjoy the lights, the sounds, the attractions and of course, the amazing food. *Free Holidays in The Village A La Mesa TraditionSaturday 12/3/22 12PM-9PM La Mesa Blvd. btwn. Spring St. - 4th St. in the heart of downtown La Mesa

*Free The Encinitas Holiday Parade Saturday 12/3/22 @ 5:00 PM

The parade moves south on 101 from D Street to J Street. It is preceded by a tree lighting ceremony with a brief appearance by Santa at the Lumberyard Shops courtyard (between H and I Street on the east side of 101).The 2022 parade theme is “Classic Encinitas” from cars to fashion to music!

*Free Little Italy Christmas Tree LightingSaturday 12/3/22 @ 4PM-8PM

The festivities start at 4:00pm, with the Tree Lighting Ceremony taking place in the Piazza della Famiglia at 6:30pm. 

This family-friendly event is back with two Christmas trees, Joshua Hubert’s Aurora tree at Piazza Basilone and the permanent 25-foot tree at Piazza della Famiglia, seasonal vendors, live music and entertainment, holiday treats, a traditional Italian tree lighting ceremony, and this year SANTA returns to grant everyone’s Christmas wishes! You can also visit the Christmas Village, located on India Street between W. Cedar and W. Grape Streets, where you’ll find one-of-a-kind stocking stuffers and other holiday gift and artisan vendors and select Little Italy Mercato vendors.

*Free The La Jolla Christmas Parade Sunday 12/4/22 @ 1:30PM The Parade kicks off at Kline & Girard

Come and see floats, marching bands, community groups, drill teams, vintage vehicles, horses, Santa Claus even a camel! Church bells peal with a fly-over. There is also a Holiday Festival called Santa's Village. It features Santa visits for children, arts-and-crafts, games, music, and face-painting.
