Check Out World of Orchids @ San Diego Botanic Garden Encinitas!

By Courtney Daly-Pavone April 3, 2021

We spent an incredible afternoon at the San Diego Botanic Garden World of Orchids exhibit in Encinitas.

We saw a number of orchids from around the world, including rare orchid specimens in this elegant exhibit. I had no idea there are close to 30,000 types of orchids, and they are found on every continent except Antarctica

It was also a chance to get floral design ideas. Stylish floral arrangements curated by Creative Director, Rene van Rems, AIFD were at the exhibit.

On weekends, visitors can shop for unusual and unique orchids at the grower direct orchid market. Admission to World of Orchids is included with your Garden entrance or membership.

Toni's Treehouse Is Open!

My son loves this enormous treehouse adorned with succulents. Children of all ages enjoy crossing it's bridges and climbing to new heights. There are benches for parents and caregivers to take a break while young ones burn energy in this picturesque setting.

Seeds of Wonder

Little ones will enjoy this children's garden with a playhouse, and plenty to discover!

Quail Trail

This natural obstacle course made of logs, bricks, and stones is a great place for open play. Children can use their imaginations, and play in nature. Next to this interactive exhibit is an electric train that's a hit with patrons of all ages.

Experience Spring! Lately I've been on a Spring high. San Diego is alive with vibrant colors. It's the best time of year. This is the ideal time to introduce young children to nature, and there's no better place than The San Diego Botanic Garden.

I love visiting SDBG because it has plenty of quiet corners where you can truly enjoy the beauty of the season. There are also lots of engaging activities, and like minded naturalists to meet and greet.

The San Diego Botanic Garden is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM. World of Orchids runs April 3rd to May 2nd 2021.
