Bike It With Wheel Fun Rentals!
A bicycle built for two is a great concept. We rented a double Surrey bicycle at Wheel Fun Rentals in Coronado. I haven't had this much fun exercising since I was a kid.
My son loved the Surrey, and we sat side by side, enjoying the ride with the shade of the canopy as we rolled through Coronado. We didn't even feel the heat, what a difference a little shade makes.
It was such an enjoyable experience, particularly biking through majestic Coronado island. Coronado has almost no vehicular traffic on their side streets, and no two homes are alike. We took in the beauty of the island without the stress of cars. We rented the Surrey for two hours, but one hour would have been sufficient not because we weren't having fun, but because we were out of shape! I could have biked all day if my legs didn't give out on me. Be prepared that these large bikes require more muscle, and lets just say that if your bike partner likes to take frequent breaks, you might be cycling for two!
Coronado is also especially bike-friendly thanks to the Bayshore Bikeway. The 24-mile bike route is a relaxed, scenic path that runs through Downtown San Diego, Coronado Island, and South Bay. The best part is that 13 of those 24 miles are car-free, so you won’t have to worry about pedaling like crazy to dodge traffic
