Read Our Review

Five minutes from the freeway lies an urban oasis, The San Diego Botanic Garden in Encinitas, and it's truly a special place.

I went with my son to explore this outdoor gem's thirty-seven acres and twenty-nine gardens.

"What A Difference A Day Makes."

On our visit, we took in an abundance of natural beauty.

Our favorites: the waterfall, rain forest, Undersea Succulent Garden, topiaries, and observation areas where you can take it all in.

Your Children Will Love This Place!

This is a place where kids can connect with nature!

From the turtles in the lily pond, the bamboo forest, cocoa, banana, and pomegranate trees, over four miles of trails and numerous geckos, there's so much to keep kids engaged and entertained.

There's even a scavenger hunt, and lots of tangible opportunities to educate kids about botany. As an adult I learned more about exotic fruits and plants during my visit, and I can't wait to go back!

The San Diego Botanic Garden is loaded with plants that span the globe.

I loved the international gardens! The South African garden, the New Zealand garden, The Mexican garden, each one uniquely beautiful and tranquil. There's plenty of space to roam, and for children to explore. There are hiking trails, and quiet corners to meditate, or connect with the natural world. I felt at peace, especially after being home for half a year.
