The San Diego Museum of African American Fine Art Presents Keepers of The Culture

The 3rd Annual Keepers of the Culture is a free reception that celebrates Black Heritage and African American culture in San Diego. Prior to the reception, the San Diego History Center will host a scanning session where participants are invited to bring their own their own photographs and documents to be scanned. Submissions will be considered for an upcoming exhibition reflecting the timeline of African American history in San Diego, and will be potentially added to the SDHC archival collections. Items will be scanned on-site and returned to the owner. Maximum photo size is 8.5x11. This activity will begin at 4:30 PM in San Diego History Center’s Thornton theater.

"Little Rock" tells the true story of the experiences of the nine black students who integrated into the previously all-white Little Rock Central High School in 1957. The play honors the bravery of the students and highlights how they suffered and what they ultimately achieved.
