Our Visit to Pine Tree Acres Christmas Tree Farm
Pine Tree Acres is more than a tree farm, on weekends during the month of December they have a petting zoo, pony rides, a bouncy house and complimentary apple cider.
This was our first trip to a Christmas tree farm. In the past, we purchased trees from big box stores, garden centers, and had a few artificial trees, but for years my goal was to chop down my own tree. In my mind, this would take place at dusk. I would make my way through a forest of trees with an ax in tow. After chopping down a colossal Douglas Fir, I would gulp warm apple cider in the moonlight. I would cap my evening with a drive home with my Christmas tree proudly strapped to the roof of my station wagon. That didn't exactly happen.
Pine Tree Acres in Ramona is a family owned Christmas tree farm with a large selection of trees from Douglas Fir's to Grands, Nobels and Fraziers. You can cut down your own tree with a saw, or there are live potted trees, and seasonal trees from Oregon ready to go!
We selected a Grand Fir that was fresh, full, and had the scent of Christmas. We were so happy with our purchase.
Nothing is wasted on this farm, ornaments are made from tree stumps, trees are always being planted. They also recycle Christmas trees after the holidays. We were impressed by the courteous staff that helped us make our decision, and kindly mount our tree on our car.
