SEAS 'N' GREETINGS @ THE BIRCH AQUARIUM
The Birch Aquarium has transformed into a holiday wonderland! Deck the Hall of Fishes and get into the holiday spirit every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and check the schedule for special appearances by Scuba Santa as well as themed animal encounters, a scavenger hunt, and fun photo opportunities.
We had a chance to check out the holiday fun @ The Birch Aquarium. My child loved the holiday decor, and seeing Scuba Santa and an Elf feed the marine life. There are two daily dive shows. Scuba Santa and his elf assistant chat with guests and discuss important conservation topics as they feed the creatures in the two-story, 70 thousand gallon Giant Kelp Forest. The kids get to participate in a Q&A session with the divers.
There were also plenty of tables with specimens of marine life from swell shark embryos, to walrus tusks as education came to life. These hands on exhibits teach children about animal conservation, science, and their role as stewards of the planet. There is also live holiday music performance in the Tide Pool area.
Every trip to The Birch Aquarium is a treat, and the holidays make it extra special. It starts from the moment you drive down the hill at Expedition Way and get a breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean.
