It wouldn't be summer without a trip to Aquatica San Diego. My son eagerly awaits the opening of this state of the art water park with plenty of things to keep kids active and cool.
Cruise down the 1,250-foot long lazy river, and feast your eyes on Caribbean flamingos as they stroll all around you. Nothing is cooler as you sit back and relax, or splash and kick your way through the park. Water cascades down waterfalls, and the palm trees sway.
Walkabout Waters has tons of hands-on fun! Slides, hoses, jets, geysers shoot to the sky. Every five minutes a 500-gallon bucket unloads water on everyone below. My son could spend the entire day running up the steps and going down multiple slides. As a parent of a child that knows how to swim, and is above the age of five, this activity is one he can play in independently. There are plenty of lounge chairs surrounding this pool, and lifeguards on hand.
This children's slide and waterfall area is perfect for little ones, also a lifeguard is on duty at this attraction.
Big Surf Shores is the largest wave pool in Southern California. It has swells of up to 5 feet high in more than 500,000 gallons of water! My kid loves this wave pool, with a sandy beach and plenty of lounge chairs surrounding the pool. Lifeguards are on hand, and there are life jackets available. If your child is under '48 inches, life jackets are mandatory. I highly recommend using them even if your child is larger since the current is strong. *Always swim near your child no further than arms length in a wave pool. Safety First! On select dates there is a live DJ spinning the hits while you splash the day away.
