Free Camp @ San Diego Public Libraries This Summer

Educational Camps That Are Fun!

Kids love summer vacation, but for parents it requires lots of planning to fill up a three month break. Thank goodness the library has several day camps available that are free, and educational. My son was enrolled in a Stop-Motion Animation Camp at the library last summer and absolutely loved it! He learned so much about film making, and was inspired to create his own shorts afterward. If your child is a curious learner, or you would like to prevent the summer slide, consider some of these camps listed below.

KinderCamp

4 - 5 Years Old | Monday - Friday | 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

 Get your child ready for their first day of school! This summer is a perfect time for your child to prepare for kindergarten. KinderCamp offers a variety of lessons and activities that focus on a child’s academic development, learning readiness, social wellness and more. For kids 4-5 years old and their guardians. Monkey Math

Earth Heroes

 Help the planet and become an Earth Hero! Learn about nature in a fun and interactive setting by exploring the wildlife found in your community. Space is limited, registration is required.

PicTales: Stop-Motion Animation

3rd - 5th Grade | Monday - Friday | 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.

 Come to Start Storytelling with Stop-Motion to learn tips and tricks for creating your own stop-motion animation movie! Make your story come alive with clay characters, Lego heroes, colorful backdrops and more. Bring yourself and your creativity - all supplies will be provided.
