Spring has sprung, and one of the most anticipated signs of Spring is the arrival of butterflies! The Butterfly Jungle at San Diego Zoo Safari Park features thousands of beautiful butterflies flying in an aviary that also includes exotic birds, lush greenery and flowers. 

Walk Among The Butterflies!

At the butterfly jungle, guests are able to walk leisurely among butterflies of all colors, shapes and sizes, take photos and learn more about these remarkable winged creatures. Watch as they sip nectar from flowers and feeders.

What to Wear!

Do you want to attract butterflies? Guests are encouraged to wear bright colors and move slowly, to attract the butterflies. They may land on your shoulder, your head or anywhere they want!  Inside this rain forest greenhouse, you’ll see many varieties of butterflies above and around you. 

Butterfly Palooza!

Get ready to see more than 30 species of butterflies from, Central, South and North America, including dazzling butterflies like the zebra longwing,orange-barred tiger, Grecian shoemaker, giant swallowtail and blue morpho. In addition to butterflies, 22 exotic bird species—including the endangered Bali myna and Mariana fruit dove—share the aviary. 


The Butterfly Jungle will run at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park March 23 through May 12. 

During Butterfly Jungle, the Safari Park is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

Butterfly Jungle is included with admission to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park  Priority butterfly viewing is available for a nominal fee @  Lorikeet Landing ticket booth.
