Little Fish Comic Book Studio

Your Child's Connection to Animation Arts!

By Courtney Daly-Pavone March 7, 2019

It's Sunday morning and while many are still in bed, kids of all ages and some adults are learning animation at Little Fish Comic Book Studio. This class is taught by Ceri Langell a professional illustrator and cartoonist who publishes Corrsolla-Robot Comics. The kids are creating squid inspired characters, each figure is unique and creativity is blooming. Several middle school kids  that attend the workshop are chatting away excited about their creations under the guidance of Ms. Langell.

Little Fish  was founded in 2012 by Alonso Nunez an active comic professional, and advocate for the comic medium. Little Fish is one of the few comic book schools in San Diego, which is shocking since it's the home of Comic-Con and the future home of the Comic-Con Museum in Balboa Park, now taking over the old Hall of Champions Museum building.

Nunez is a graduate of The School of Visual Arts in New York City. He majored in comic illustration.  He says Little Fish offers classes for the young and old, and creating comics is intergenerational. Step inside the Little Fish studio and it's evident that paths are crossed that might never have met as this medium unites us. Comics believe it or not, are common ground, something we are all akin to, something relatable whether we are current fans, or we had a stash of comics on our nightstand in our youth.
