Take Control of Your Holiday!

Tips for Staying Sane & Enjoying the Season

By Courtney Daly-Pavone December 22, 2018

The term Supermom is often used to described a mothers gift for juggling without breaking a sweat, but lets face it, the holidays are the Olympics! We do it all, and we have to shop in secret (if your kids still believe in Santa), wrap gifts at night, specialty cooking, entertaining, and traverse neighborhoods to partake in holiday events.  It's enough to make you feel swamped, stressed, and longing for a break.

Here are Some Tips to Reclaim Your Holiday Moms

1. Know Your Limitations Don't Accept Every Offer To Go Out. If you're rushing and stressed it's just not fun don't overbook yourself.

2. It's Okay to Shop at the Last Minute Just Check Store Hours. Don't arrive when the staff is closing the shop, instead give yourself a reasonable three hour time frame to shop in a mall where you can just go to multiple retailers without sitting in traffic.

3. Planning a Last Minute Gathering and In Need of Gifts and Invites Try Elfster! To start your Gift Exchange, just share a few details with our Secret Santa Generator. ... 4. Start a Tradition & Stick With It.  My family has two annual traditions that we never miss, the other events are optional.  A tradition could be watching holiday movies every night in December, Midnight Mass, or a Tree Lighting in your town.  Kids love traditions, and they get a warm fuzzy feeling whenever they think about them.

5. Is Your Kid Happy Than Everything is Okay! It's okay if dinner isn't perfect, or your haircut didn't turn out the way you planned.  Children don't notice or care about those things, and the holidays is really their market, so rejoice in their reverie.

Merry Christmas! Warm Wishes in 2019!
